A Fresh Start for School Nutrition in Attleboro

As the 2025–26 school year kicks off, families in Attleboro are discovering a whole new dining experience. From upgraded menus to universal free meals—and updated payment tools—school lunch has never looked this good.

Whitson’s Brings Healthy, Scratch-Cooked Meals

Attleboro Public Schools continues to partner with Whitson’s Culinary, a food services provider celebrated for healthy, scratch-made meals. By focusing on real ingredients and steering clear of high-fructose corn syrup and additives, they offer dishes that are both wholesome and flavorful. Bonus: each meal includes nutritional information so families can make informed choices.

Free Meals for All Students

Starting this school year, every student at Attleboro Public Schools is eligible for completely free breakfast and lunch—no forms, no fees. This expanded access ensures no student misses out on a meal, helping support learning and wellbeing across every grade.

Payment Tool Gets a Makeover

For families that wish to add funds for extras (like snacks or ala carte options), the district’s payment platform, MySchoolBucks, has undergone updates. A new membership program called FamilyPass offers unlimited meal payments for a flat $75 annual fee, along with the ability to track accounts, receive alerts, and automate top-ups. Note: starting August 1, the convenience fee for card payments at checkout will be $3.50.

Why These Changes Matter

  • Better nutrition – Scratch cooking and fresh ingredients set students up for energy, growth, and better focus in class.

  • Equal access – Offering meals free to all levels the playing field and ensures every child has a daily nutritious option.

  • Convenient technology – Updated payment tools mean families can easily manage, budget, and customize their student’s meal plans.

All in all, it’s a smart move for kids, parents, and the wider school community.
