Community Roundup: Local Businesses and Upcoming Events

Massachusetts communities are continuing to recover after a powerful winter storm swept through the state earlier this week, leaving heavy snowfall and widespread cleanup efforts in its wake. Crews across the region have been working to restore normal conditions, clear roads, and return daily life to normal following the storm.

While residents continue digging out, several local businesses and organizations are providing services, experiences, and events that bring the community together.

One such business is Dogtopia, a dog daycare and boarding facility focused on providing a safe and engaging environment for pets. Dogs can participate in supervised play sessions in indoor playrooms designed to group animals by size and temperament. Trained staff members monitor activity to ensure safe socialization while encouraging exercise and positive interaction.

Dogtopia also offers overnight boarding and spa-style grooming services, including baths and nail care. Many pet owners appreciate the facility’s live webcam access, which allows them to check in on their pets throughout the day.

Sports enthusiasts now have a new option for training with the opening of D-BAT Metro South, an indoor baseball and softball training facility serving athletes across Greater Boston, Metro South, and the South Shore. The facility features batting cages, advanced training tools such as HitTrax technology, and instruction designed to help players refine their skills year-round.

Art lovers can explore creative work at The Painted Fox Art Gallery, located on Foxboro Common. The gallery showcases artwork from local and regional artists, including landscapes, still-life paintings, and abstract pieces that reflect the talent found throughout the community.

Another longstanding organization connected to the region is Pine Island Camp, a nonprofit summer camp located on an island in Maine’s Belgrade Lakes. Founded in 1902, the camp focuses on outdoor experiences and character development for boys ages nine through fifteen. Campers live in a traditional environment without electricity or modern conveniences, encouraging independence, teamwork, and appreciation for nature.

In addition to local businesses, several community events are approaching.

A Psychic and Mediumship Development Workshop is scheduled later this month, offering participants an opportunity to explore intuitive practices in a guided setting.

Figure skating fans will have the chance to watch talented skaters from across New England during performances scheduled for February 28 and March 1 at The Skating Club of Boston.

Music lovers can also look forward to a live performance by the country band Parmalee at Six String Grill & Stage, adding another entertainment option for residents in the area.

As winter slowly gives way to spring, these businesses and events highlight the many ways residents can stay connected with their community while supporting local organizations and enjoying regional entertainment.
