Wrentham recently secured nearly one million dollars in federal funding to enhance its water system and support future growth. The town received a $959,752 grant through the FY 2024 Community Project Funding Program, thanks to efforts led by U.S. Representative Jake Auchincloss. This program is part of a larger federal effort to invest $58.2 billion in energy and water development, with $10 billion allocated specifically for improving drinking water infrastructure. Wrentham’s Fire Department is asking everyone to be extra careful right now. Dry conditions across the region have created a serious risk for brush fires, and with nearly 50 fires already burning across the state, it’s important to stay alert. Fire Chief Antonio Marino shared that 18 of those fires were reported in just the last day. Coach Bob Goldberg of King Philip Regional High School reached an incredible milestone when he secured his 800th career win on the girls tennis court. The historic victory came on May 1 during a match against Stoughton High School, giving him cause to celebrate his long-standing dedication to the team. Goldberg has been guiding the KP girls tennis program since 1971, and this spring marks his 54th season at the helm.
